Ok, so today i got oddly asked out by this girl. For the sake of this converstion, let's call her, "Pam." So Pam is a freshman, and I am a junior in high school. We talk to each other sometimes, but not on a regular basis. I say "Hi," and she waves back , etc. We really haven't had any lengthy conversation with eachother since before Thanksgiving break. So, we are pretty much on a first name basis, kind of.

So, in band, we have this thing called the "Comment Box," where people put in the most random comments ever, such as "Ninja Monkies are the Best," and the band director reads them out loud and the band members laugh hysterically, etc, etc. So, today, one comment read something like this.

"Mark, I know this is kinda weird, but will you go out with me"

--"Pam"

I was really weirded out! At first, I thought it was a joke, and everyone laughed. But then during lunch, someone said she was serious. At that moment, I became REALLY weirded out. First of all, who asks someone out through message in a box that is read to the public? Second of all, I haven't talk to this person since November. Why do you want to go out with me??!?!

So, I think I am just going to carry my life on as usual, never bringing up the subject again. If she wants to talk about it, I will tell her the truth; that being that I really did not intend on dating her.

I am going to feel really bad though. I know I would. If I had enough guts to ask someone out, I would feel really sad if the person said, "no!" But dating out of guilt is REALLY bad!! That just causes a lot of problems!! So, I am just going to stick to the original plan; completely ignore the subject. Ignoring something never fails me!! I need a hug!!

So, as my health teacher says. "Life is a dance: You learn as you go!"
